Non-Discrimination,
Anti-Harassment & Accommodation Policies
Non-Discrimination Policy:
Green Mountain RSVP's Fiscal Sponor, Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging (SVCOA), is firmly committed to prohibiting discrimination throughout the employment process and against volunteers because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, ancestry, place of birth, age (volunteers must be aged 55 or older, but there is no upper age limit on volunteering), crime victim status, physical or mental condition, marital status, results of genetic testing, service in the military, or any other federally protected characteristic. Retaliation against an employee or volunteer for reporting or making a charge of discrimination, or for cooperating in an investigation of a charge of discrimination, is also prohibited.
Anti-Harassment Policy:
Green Mountain RSVP has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of or by employees and volunteers.
SVCOA’s policy is that all employees are entitled to a work environment free of discrimination, including freedom from harassment based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, ancestry, place of birth, age, crime victim status, disability, or handicap, marital status, results of genetic testing, service in the military or any other legally protected characteristic. SVCOA will not tolerate such conduct in the workplace or volunteer settings. Such conduct is unlawful under federal and state law.
Any volunteer who submits a complaint or grievance is protected from discrimination or reprisal and the complaint will be dealt with immediately.
Accommodations Policy:
Selection of volunteers and project assignments will be made without regard to the need to provide reasonable accommodation. No qualified individual with disabilities will, on the basis of disability, be excluded from participation in the Green Mountain RSVP program, whether staff or volunteers.
