Windsor County Volunteer Luncheon

“Thank You for Coming to the Aid of Your Community” said the tags on gift bags for Green Mountain RSVP Volunteers. On Tuesday April 24th the Windsor County Office of Green Mountain Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) honored volunteers with a luncheon at the “Exit Ate” Restaurant in Ascutney. Volunteers were recognized for their community engagement and celebrated for their commitment. Maria Contro of Chester was recognized for her remarkable RSVP tenure of 23 years and 22,000 hours to the Springfield Meals on Wheels Program. Bob Evens of Ludlow has given 21 years to Back River Good Neighbor Services. Woody Bickford of Springfield Meals on Wheels and Alice Geiling from the Upper Valley Haven Food Shelf were awarded certificates for 20 years of service. Charlotte Snyder of Cavendish has given over 1500 hours to the Cavendish Bone builder Class and the Cavendish Town Elementary School. Mary Dalton, Sue Ober and Nancy Ross were celebrated for 10 years of service as Bone Builder Instructors in Brownsville. GMRSVP is grateful to all of the volunteers delivering meals, serving meals, stocking food shelves, mentoring children, and providing transportation to our neighbors in need. You are truly the heart of the community.

Thank you to Volunteer Coordinator, Corey Mitchell for putting together a nice event! We look forward to celebrating volunteers in Bennington County and Windham County in the upcoming months.
